Rain & wind
Coastal gales

Sunday
Low pressure centres over England and Wales on Sunday. Expect more periods of rain rotating around the area of low pressure and strengthened winds in the west. The rain will be heavy at times, and although there is much uncertainty, it does look as if this will be heaviest in Northern Ireland and parts of Ireland and through southern England and Wales as well as northern Scotland. Some showers developing in central and northern England as well as eastern Scotland, these becoming heavy and possibly thundery in places. High temperatures at 10 to 16C.

Sunday Night
Overnight, rain will continue to fall over many areas but shouldn't be quite as heavy as it was during the day for many due to the low pressure weakening. Some clear spells potentially developing across western Scotland and central areas of England. Windy still across Ireland and southern English coasts. Lows at 7 to 12C.

Monday
Low pressure remains over the UK and Ireland on Monday but as a more weakened feature by now. Bands of rain affect eastern Scotland, northern Ireland, Wales and southwestern parts of England. A mix of sunshine and showers elsewhere, some of which could be locally heavy and thundery. Breezy still in the far south and in parts of the west. High temperatures at 11 to 15C.

Tuesday
The low pressure centre sits over Scotland on Tuesday bringing outbreaks of rain to mainly northern and western areas as winds will blow from a west to north-westerly direction. Breezy along the southern and western coasts still. Driest areas with the best chance of any sunny spells across eastern areas. Highs at 11 to 16C.
