Cloudier England and Wales, patchy rain. becoming brighter in Scotland and then south later

A chilly morning across much of England and Wales. Rather cloudy for many, although some bright spells in the southeast. A weak front passing through northern England and southern Scotland as well as central Ireland giving a few spots of rain. Brighter and cooler in Scotland, a few showers in the north.

Outbreaks of patchy rain in central and southern England and Wales this afternoon. That brighter weather spreading through the rest of Ireland and northern England as well as into the Midlands. Scattered showers in northern and northwest Scotland. Brighter for most, although feeling cooler. Breezy in northern Scotland.

A cool night. Breezy in the east where there will be a few showers. Scattered showers too in northern Scotland. Dry for other areas with clear spells and a slight frost for many.
