Overnight frost for some
Largely dry

Thursday
A ridge of high pressure extends through the British Isles on Thursday with high pressure centred west of Ireland. A cool, northerly airflow affects all areas bringing a bright day for many. The best sunshine in western parts. In the east some cloud will be drifting in off the North Sea at times bringing scattered showers here. Feeling especially chilly in the strong winds through East Anglia and the southeast. Highs at 5 to 7C.

Thursday Night
A chilly night thanks to still and clear skies with a frost developing in places in the north and west along with mist and fog patches. Largely dry througout. Lows in the west down to -1 or -2C in places, milder further east.

Friday
Breezy for northern Scotland on Friday, some rain in the far northwest later in the day. Most areas of the rest of the British Isles should be dry. Always tending to be cloudier to the north and west, a few spots of rain over western coasts and hills where lower cloud will shroud some places. The best of any sunshine across southeastern England and East Anglia as well as eastern parts of Ireland. One or two showery spots of rain in northern England later. Highs at 7C in southeast England, 5C in the Midlands, 9C in western Scotland.

Saturday
More variable cloud cover on Saturday with patchy rain about as a weak front slides south. Otherwise a dry day with some sunny spells developing. Turning breezier in the north later. Highs at 4 to 9C.
