Tuesday 18/12/18
A low pressure area is over the Atlantic on Tuesday, centred to the south of Iceland, which extends fronts across the British Isles. It will be a cloudy and wet day for most with the heaviest rain for Ireland, western fringes of Scotland, southern Wales and southwestern England. Cloud may break over Ireland by the evening. It will be another windy day with gales in places. Highs at 6 to 10C.

Low pressure remains to the northwest of Scotland on Wednesday. It will be a brighter day for southern Scotland, much of England away from the southeast and for north Wales. Elsewhere will see a mixture of sunshine and showers. Over western Scotland, northwestern England and western Wales showers could merge to give more prolonged spells of rain. Winds will ease from Tuesday. High temperatures at 5 to 9C.

Thursday 20/12/18

Highs at 6 to 9C.
