Duty forecaster: Simon Keeling

Wet, windy and cold for England & Wales, wintry showers northeast Scotland

Good morning,

Wet and windy this morning over much of central, southern and eastern England. This rain will be edging slowly northwards to be into northern England this afternoon, leading to a further risk of flooding. Drier in western Wales, but rain in the east will slip into southwest England.

Showers over eastern Scotland will be heavy and frequent. The showers will be turning wintry over the hills. Further wintry showers in northern Scotland too. Western Scotland should be dry and bright. Staying bright and breezy in Ireland, a risk of showers to the west. More rain tonight in much of northern England. Heavy showers for western Wales and southern England. Wintry showers in northeast Scotland but far to the west and in much of Ireland.
