Issued: 0530hrs Sunday 10th November 2019
Duty forecaster: Claire Darbinyan

After a cold, bright and dry start to the day, cloud builds from the west with rain moving in later.

Good morning,

It's a cold start to the day for Scotland, Northern Ireland, eastern Ireland, northern England and north Wales with a widespread frost and icy patches. A few isolated mist and fog patches may affect western areas. These lift to leave a dry and fine morning for most areas. A bit cloudier over southwestern parts of the UK with showers easing here through the morning.

Cloud starts to build from the west over Ireland through the morning and rain reaches western parts of the country through the early afternoon. Rain continues to push east through the afternoon spreading across Ireland, Northern Ireland and into western fringes of Scotland through the afternoon. Over higher ground this will turn to snow. High temperatures widely reaching just 4 to 9C on Sunday afternoon.

Rain continues to spread eastward through Sunday evening spreading across western and central Scotland, Wales, northwest England and into the West Country too. This will increasingly turn to sleet and snow over higher ground as temperatures drop into the evening. Showers follow into western Ireland while eastern parts of Ireland and the UK see a dry evening.

Have a good day!

Claire
