Morning Call - November 30, 2019
Mostly dry & bright
Rain, strong winds south

Issued: 0530hrs Saturday 30th November 2019
Duty forecaster: Claire Darbinyan

A cold but mostly dry and bright day across the UK and Ireland. An area of low pressure brings outbreaks of rain to southwestern parts of Ireland and England and strong winds to southern coastal areas of England.

Good morning,

It's a cold, dry and bright start for many today to the north with widespread frost and patches of ice. Cloudier and windier to the southwest with showery outbreaks of rain for southwest Ireland and the West Country while mist and fog could cause problems for many across the Midlands, Yorkshire and into the east of England too. This should lift through the morning while cloud builds to the southwest and rain becomes heavier here. Staying windy here too through the morning.

Conditions continue much the same through Saturday afternoon though rain eases for southwest Ireland. Staying cloudy here though. Winds increase too along the south coast of England with gusts of 35 to 40mph possible. The best of the sun for Scotland, north Wales and northwestern parts of England. High temperatures ranging from about 2 to 8C.

Becoming drier for southwestern areas into Saturday evening while a few showery outbreaks of rain could develop for northern parts of Scotland. Temperatures dropping quickly under mostly clear skies away from the south coast of England as night falls.

Have a good day!

Claire
