Showers fade tonight

Issued: 0530hrs Tuesday 12th November 2019
Duty forecaster: Simon Keeling

Wet northern England and eastern Scotland, heavy showers to south, cold for all

Good morning,

Low pressure dominates the weather across the UK today. There will be an area of rain through Wales, the Midlands, much of Scotland and eastern parts of Northern Ireland. Further rain affecting eastern Scotland and northeast England. Windy too with a risk of gales. Drier in southern England as well as central and southern Scotland.

This afternoon sees the rain extending into the Midlands and persisting across Wales, but then extending through southeastern parts of England. A further area of rain in central and northern Scotland. Remaining dry in southwestEngland and southern Wales. Further showers in northern and western parts of Ireland. Tonight sees the rain and showers gradually fading There will always be a few showers over western coasts and hills, perhaps for northern Scotland, but drier elsewhere with clearer skies. Some rain in western Ireland later.
