Low pressure brings unsettled conditions and gales to the UK and Ireland today.

Good morning,

A wet and windy start to the weekend for many today with northern Scotland, southwest Ireland and the southwest UK seeing the majority of the rain through the morning. Gales also affecting these areas with gusts reaching up to 70 mph for exposed coastal areas to the south.
 


Rain edges to the north and east through the morning and into the afternoon. Some drier interludes possible through the afternoon for the Midlands, Northern Ireland and central and northern parts of Scotland. Staying windy to the north and south of the country though with gusts reaching up to 45 mph across southern parts of England. High temperatures at 8 to 11C for most, 12 to 13C in the southeast.


Outbreaks of rain continue for many areas into Saturday evening. Drier to the north and west.
