Persistent heavy rain western Scotland

Good morning,

It will be a blustery Saturday across Britain and Ireland - the strong westerlies driven by a deep area of low pressure lying to the north of Scotland.

Showers will track west to east across England and Wales, locally heavy with risk of thunder locally. Rain may set in at times across western hills.

The most persistently wet weather will affect western Scotland, where heavy rain will set in for many hours at a time through the day, and rarely fully cease. Drier to the east of the Highlands.

Today's top temperatures ranging from 10C or less in Scotland, to 15C in western England and Wales, and 18C in the Midlands and southeast.

Have a great day.
Garry
