Cloudy, damp Ireland and western Scotland, plenty of sunshine and a few showers elsewhere
Good morning,
There is going to be lots of sunshine to start today over much of the country and quite a chilly start too. Some cloud in Ireland and western parts of Wales, and Scotland, this bringing outbreaks of rain in Ireland. One or two showers over the moors of Cornwall and Devon as well as west Wales.
By this afternoon a few showers could develop in Wales, the Midlands, northern England and Scotland. An isolated one of these could be thundery. Mot areas should stay dry though with more spells of sunshine. Further showers in Northern Ireland, some drizzle and thicker low cloud in western Scotland. The showers should fade overnight with clear skies for many. More cloud affecting western Scotland, giving a few spots of drizzle and light rain in northwest Scotland.
