Colder for most
Warm, bright far south

Issued: 0530hrs Sunday 10th May 2020
Duty forecaster: Claire Darbinyan

A southward moving cold front is the main feature of the weather today as it draws cold, Arctic air across much of the country. It brings some patchy rain to parts of Ireland, England and Wales through the morning too. Showers affect northern and eastern areas, some of which will be rather wintry.

Good Morning,

We have a cold front sitting across northern parts of Ireland and England this morning. This brings cloud and patchy outbreaks of rain which edge south across England, Ireland and Wales through the morning. It's cold to the north of this for Scotland but bright with isolated wintry showers.

Winds pick up along eastern coasts of Scotland and England through this afternoon as the front continues to edge southward over England. Rain associated with the front fades but showers, some wintry, continue to affect northern and eastern areas. Staying dry elsewhere with some good spells of sunshine. Cold for most with highs of 6 to 9C for many, warmer to the far south.

Showers persist into Sunday evening for northeastern areas but its dry for most with some good spells of cool evening sunshine to the west.

Have a good day!

Claire
