Brighter south

Broken cloud and patchy rain in the north, drier and brighter south

Good morning,

We are halfway through May and the weather today is going to be starting distinctly chilly over much of England, Wales and Ireland. Plenty of sunshine though and so temperatures will be beginning to lift quickly. Some cloud in northern and central Scotland, this producing some spots of rain in the north and west.

Cloud increases this afternoon across many areas, although still with some sunny spells for most. There will be further spots of rain in northern and western Scotland. The best sunshine remains in southern England and the far south of Ireland. Feeling less chilly than recent days in the south. Tonight brings broken cloud for all, and so a far lower risk of a frost. Patchy rain in the north and west of Scotland.
