Warm, hazy sun
Local afternoon thunderstorms

Issued: 0530hrs Saturday 9th May 2020
Duty forecaster: Garry Nicholson

Little wind, slow-moving downpours later in day

Good morning,

Slack pressure and light winds will exist across the British Isles today. Low pressure is located around Biscay, whilst high pressure is to the north.

A cold front moves into Scotland from the north through the day bringing rain to the far north. Otherwise, it will be a generally warm day again across Britain with hazy sunshine.

Localised heavy showers and thunderstorms will develop across inland areas of the UK through the day but these very hit and miss, and many places will miss these completely.

Today's top temperatures widely climbing into the low 20s Celsius for England and Wales, reaching highs of 24C in the Home Counties. Around 18C in Scotland and Northern Ireland, but colder in the far north where rain sets in.

Have a great day.
Garry
