Morning Call - May 03, 2020
Showers
Cloudy southwest

Issued: 0530hrs Sunday 3rd May 2020
Duty forecaster: Claire Darbinyan

An area of low pressure brings cloudy skies and patchy outbreaks of rain into southwestern areas today. To the north and east, skies are brighter but showers are likely to develop here, especially through the afternoon.

Good Morning,

A chilly but mostly bright start for Scotland and Northern Ireland with scattered showers, mainly over Scotland, through Sunday morning. Cloudier further south and milder over much of England, Ireland and Wales with outbreaks of rain for southeast Ireland, parts of Wales and southwest England.

Patchy outbreaks of rain continue over southern parts of Ireland into the afternoon while showers over the UK become more focussed over eastern parts of Scotland and England. A few of these showers may be rather heavy and thundery in nature. The best of any afternoon sunshine will tend to be over northwestern parts of England, Ireland and Scotland.

A few showers persist into Sunday evening though they tend to become fewer and lighter. Staying cloudy to the south with clearer skies to the north.

Have a good day!

Claire
