Breezy with showers northern areas

Fair for Portugal and Spain again today, plenty of sunshine for both. It stays fine through Corsica and Sardinia as well as Italy. Isolated showers in western Greece, otherwise fair with good spells of sunshine. Fine too in western Turkey, a few showers in the east. Thundery rain and showers affect central and eastern France. Fine in northern areas with sunny spells. Fresh in the Low Countries with sunny spells here. Some showers in northern Germany, but rain in the east. This rain tracks through Poland. Further showers in Austria and Hungary as well as Switzerland. Sunny spells and scattered showers in Denmark. Rain for southern Sweden, turning to heavy showers. Fine for Denmark with sunshine, and this sunny weather extends to Finland too. Heavy showers for Norway.


Sunday
High pressure builds across western Europe as previous frontal systems clear away eastwards. Generally dry for Portugal, central and southern Spain, temperatures into the 30s Celsius. Risk of a few showers over northern Spanish mountains and the Pyrenees. Also dry for much of France.
A brisk west to northwesterly breeze brings cool and showery conditions to Germany, Poland and central-eastern Europe, with some heavy and thundery downpours locally. Heavy rain spreads through the Balkans into northern Greece. A few scattered showers for Italy.
Sunshine and showers for the Low Countries and Denmark. Low pressure over southern Norway and Sweden will result in some slow-moving bursts of rain. Further north across Scandinavia will be drier with sunshine. A few showers for the Baltic states.
