Gales in Ireland, mostly dry with sunny spells for many

A dry but rather cloudy start to the day on Thursday morning for many. There will be some bright spells and perhaps even some sunshine across more eastern areas. Becoming windy in the west of Ireland with gales developing over western coast, where there will also be some outbreaks of rain.

The ra9in will pass east through Ireland during the morning turning even more showery. Becoming brighter in the west with sunny spells. Most other areas will be rather cloudy, although it should be generally dry apart from some patchy rain affecting western Scotland. Some sunshine developing during the afternoon across many parts of western England and Wales, although still raining across western Scotland.

Tonight bring some rain to north-western Scotland and it is here that there may be gales once again. Most other areas should be generally dry although with increasing cloud. Some drizzle affecting southern coast of Wales and the western coast of south-west England as well as southern coast of Ireland.
