Unsettled for most with outbreaks of rain and wind

Showery rain about on Friday with blustery winds as low pressure remains dominant over the UK and Ireland.

Showers will be heavy, perhaps thundery, and merge into longer spells of rain across northern England, parts of Scotland, Northern Ireland and parts of Ireland. Best of any lasting sunny spells and drier conditions further south but expect showers here too, some heavy.

Overnight, central and southern parts of England will remain largely dry although bands of rain will push in across Northern Ireland, Ireland, northern England and into Wales. Showery rain across parts of Scotland too.

Highs generally between 15 and 22C.
