Cloudier east
Best sun in west

Issued: 0530hrs Wednesday 25th August 2021
Duty forecaster: Simon Keeling

Cloud and mist affecting eastern coasts, sunnier and drier in the west

A quiet day ahead with high pressure in control of conditions across the British Isles. There will be cloud affecting northern and eastern Scotland as well as parts of eastern England. A low risk of some drizzle here during the morning. More broken cloud in the south of the country, some bright spells here. The best of any sunshine will be in more western areas.

This afternoon is bright for many with good spells of sunshine, most in the west of the country. For eastern parts of England and northeast Scotland there is likely to be more cloud throughout, although it should stay dry.

Tonight brings further cloud to the east, a risk of some drizzle on eastern coasts. Clear skies in Ireland, western England and Wales.
