Some persistent rain in southeast

Good morning,

We start the week with some more heavy showers in the forecast, although these will be hit and miss across the country.

An area of persistent rain crosses south and southeast England this morning, followed by local clusters of showers for southern counties of England into the afternoon, some heavy with a risk of thunder.

Rain and showery bursts also affect Cumbria and southern Scotland, with some thundery bursts possible for the Borders region into the afternoon. Slow-moving downpours are also likely to brew up across central and eastern parts of the Highlands as the days goes by. Showery too across Ireland.

Wales and the north Midlands should escape drier through the day with some sunny spells. Rain moves into west Wales into this evening.

Today's top temperatures will range from 16C in the northwest to 22C in eastern England.

Have a great day.
Garry
