Morning Call - August 13, 2021
Rain & wind Scotland
Drier south

Issued: 0530hrs Friday 13th August 2021
Duty forecaster: Simon Keeling

Mostly dry with broken cloud and sunny spells in the south, rain and windy western Scotland

Rather a lot of cloud around through Friday morning cross eastern and southern parts of England. Some brighter skies for northern England and Wales. Wetter and windy in western Scotland where there will be some periods of rain, and this could be heavy at times. Eastern parts of Scotland should be dry. Some showers across northern and western Ireland and windy here as well.

This afternoon see some bright or sunny spells are mostly dry weather across Wales and much of England. The south of England always tending to be cloudier and there is the risk of some drizzle affecting high ground. Further rain in western Scotland, but dry to the east. Some showers in southern Scotland and across Northern Ireland. Tending to be cloudier in southern Ireland.

Tonight stays damp across much of Scotland with some showery outbreaks of rain, especially in the north and west. Drive for other areas with broken cloud, but always the risk of some low cloud and mist affecting western and south-western coast. More persistent rain across southern Ireland by morning.
