Unsettled start with rain and showers but improving in the second half of the month/b>
A month of two-halves is expected with some unsettled weather to start the month; rain for all, heavy at times and cool with the jet stream overhead. The second half of the month does tend to become drier and warmer, although there is a risk that if the weather becomes very warm, some torrential thunderstorms could be triggered.
*7/8/21 -13/8/21* Unsettled start, rain and showers, strong winds. Slowly less unsettled during week. Drier end in south still rain northwest.
*14/8/21 - 20/8/21* Drier far south. Staying quite mixed, most rain west and north first. Drier for all later, perhaps hot east and south.
*21/8/21 - 27/8/21* Risk torrential thundery rain triggered by heat. Shower risk persists through week. Possibly drier later.
*28/8/21 - 4/9/21* Generally drier, sunny spells, warmer. Best sun south and east. Showers northwest Scotland.
