Cooler than recently
Showery rain in south

Issued: 0530hrs Thursday 28th February 2019
Duty forecaster: Simon Keeling

Showery rain in the south, cooler than recent days

Good morning,

Showery bits of rain cross Wales, central and southern England this morning. There will be more cloud than recently, although it should be dry in northern England, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Take a coat with you as well because although still mild for the time of year, it will be considerably cooler than recent days.

The rain could become more persistent later this morning and into the early part of this afternoon as it crosses north wales, the Midlands and East Anglia, before fading into the late afternoon and evening. Becoming brighter in the west of Ireland and southwest England before dark. Plenty of high cloud over Scotland, but bright and dry.

Dry for all once rain has cleared the southeast. Some clearer skies developing and a touch of frost here and there in northern England and Scotland by the morning.
