Morning Call - February 17, 2019
Wet and windy in the west
Drier in the east

Issued: 0530hrs Sunday 17th February 2019
Duty forecaster: Claire Darbinyan

A wet and windy day for many in the west as a cold front brings rain followed by blustery scattered showers. Drier and brighter in the east.

Good morning,

A cold front will bring rain to much of Ireland through the early part of Sunday morning, moving into western Scotland, Wales and western fringes of England before lunchtime. It will therefore be a cloudy start to the day for most areas with the exception of the southeast of England.

The front will continue to move east through the afternoon but will weaken as it goes. Subsequently rain will ease and become more scattered and won't reach many areas in the east. Behind the front over Ireland and Scotland it will feel cooler and there will be some scattered blustery showers around. High temperatures will reach 9 or 10C in Scotland, Ireland and Wales, 11 to 13C widely across England.

Showers will ease across England and Wales into Sunday evening while more persistent rain will move into western Ireland and northwestern Scotland. Staying windy in the west.

Have a good day!
Claire
