Showers and rain, cool for many, then becoming drier and warmer later

Low pressure will be in control of the weather for most of the coming week. This brings rain and showers, although some sunny spells too. Cool in northern and western parts but some milder days in the east. Tending to turn drier and warm in the following week.

Wednesday 29/6/22
Low pressure is over Ireland on Wednesday. This is going to be bringing a day of showers and rain to many parts of the British Isles. A slow moving front over England, aligned north to south will likely give cloud and outbreaks of rain for much of the day. Bands of showers in more western areas may become heavy at times. Sunny spells and scattered showers in Ireland, some heavy. Further heavy showers in Wales and western Scotland. Highs at 21C in the east, 17C in the west.

Thursday 30/6/22
Low pressure drifts towards Scotland on Thursday. Another mixed day is expected with showers for most. The showers merge to longer spells of rain at times, most in Scotland, Ireland and western parts of England and Wales. brighter in the east, fewer showers are likely here. Highs at 21C in eastern England, 17C in the west.

Friday 1/7/22
Low pressure north of Scotland on Friday. A day of sunny spells and scattered showers. Most of the showers will be in Scotland where some of them could be heavy. Highs at 17C in northern and western areas, 23C in the southeast.

Saturday 2/7/22
High pressure to the south may bring a drier day through much of England, Wales and eastern Scotland. It is likely to be dry and bright in eastern Ireland too. Showers in western Scotland and western Ireland. Tops at 16 to 18C in western Scotland and western Ireland, but 20 to 24C elsewhere.

Sunday 3/7/22
Higher pressure builds over the British Isles bringing dry and fair weather. Sunny periods for most, although a weak front may drift through Scotland and Ireland bringing some cloud here. Tops at 18 to 25C.

Monday 4/7/22
A ridge of high pressure remains over the UK and Ireland for Monday. More fair weather with sunny spells. Cloud and some showers affecting northern Scotland. Highs at 18 to 24C.
