A drier and warmer outlook still on the cards for next week

Sunshine and showers for the next few days then higher pressure ridging in from the North Atlantic looks to gradually settle conditions down through next week. Largely dry weather is expected, though always more cloud and some rain towards the northwest. Turning warmer across southern areas through the week.

Sunday 2/7/22
Low pressure sits north of Scotland on Sunday. Showery rain will affect much of Scotland into northern England. Northern Ireland also seeing some showers. Largely dry elsewhere with the best of the sunshine across the south and southeast. Highs at 17 to 23C though cooler across northwest Scotland.
 


Monday 4/7/22
Low pressure continues to move away from the UK while higher pressure over the North Atlantic ridges in creating a north-westerly wind. Showers affecting northern coasts and hills with perhaps more persistent rain across the Highlands region. Dry and fine elsewhere with sunny spells. Highs at 16 to 24C.

Tuesday 5/7/22
A ridge of high pressure from the Atlantic continues to affect most of the UK and Ireland on Tuesday pulling in a persistent northwest wind flow. This drags in some showery rain gain across the northwest of Scotland with some light rain across western coasts and hills. Perhaps a few showers reaching central areas of Ireland too. Highs at 16 to 24C.

Wednesday 6/7/22
High pressure continues to sit just to the west of Ireland through midweek. Fair conditions for most with the best of the sunshine across the south and southeast. Somewhat more cloud across the north and far western regions bringing the risk of some showers onto western coasts and hills for a time. Highs at 26C in southern England, 15C in western Scotland.

Thursday 7/7/22
High pressure remains in control as we head through Thursday. Most places remain dry with lasting sunny spells about and feeling warm across southern England in that sun. Always more cloud across north and west Scotland with the risk of some showery rain. Highs at a warm 17 to 27C.

Friday 8/7/22
High pressure looks to slide in more towards Ireland on Friday seeing dry and largely sunny conditions while feeling warm too. Always more cloud towards northwest Scotland with the risk of some showery rain here. Highs at 19 to 27C.
