Warmest toward southeast

Southwesterly winds will prevail during the week ahead, bringing spells of rain or showers in from the Atlantic. The south and east will be driest, with some warm sunshine at times. It will be windy on some days, up to gale force near coasts.

Wednesday 8/6/22
A front will be passing from west to east during the morning. This brings cloud and rain, some of it heavy. The rain clearing eastwards by afternoon with brighter weather following, but a scattering of showers. Some good spells of sunshine in Ireland, a few showers here. Highs 16 to 22C.
 

Thursday 9/6/22
Low pressure will be west of Ireland on Thursday. Rain spreads from the west, becoming increasingly persistent for western Britain. Drier for south and eastern regions with some sunshine, but thickening cloud from the west. Strengthening southwesterly winds, touch gale force in the northwest. Highs 15 to 21C.
 

Friday 10/6/22
Low pressure positioned north of Scotland, bringing brisk southwesterly winds. Sunshine and showers for all. The showers will be heavy at times, especially in the west. A risk of thunderstorms and hail. Drier toward the southeast. Highs at 14C in Scotland, 19 to 22C in southern England.
 

Saturday 11/6/22
Showery conditions continue as low pressure lies to the north. Rain most frequent toward the west and north. Drier and brighter for the eastern counties. A fresh westerly breeze for northern areas. Highs 15 to 21C.

Sunday 12/6/22
Sunny spells and lighter winds. A scattering of showers forming, but some areas escaping drier much of the day. Highs 16 to 21C.

Monday 13/6/22
A ridge of high pressure may build from the southwest, bringing mainly dry conditions, but some showers may still form locally. Highs 16 to 21C.
