Heat until Sunday then cooler temperatures. Thundery breakdown in the south at weekend. Sun and showers for some next week.
A drop in temperatures is expected on Sunday in the south when a fresher flow moves in. Thundery showers as well as heavy rain in the south this weekend. Then largely dry next week but watch for the showers pulling in on a cooler north-westerly wind.

Monday 20/6/22 A ridge of high pressure brings a dry day over England and Wales with sunny spells, the best in the east and south. Meanwhile, a weak front will bring more cloud as well as some patchy rain across parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland. Highs at 16 to 23C.
Tuesday 21/6/22 Weak lower pressure circulates to the north of Scotland and a north-westerly flow pushes down the country on Tuesday. This brings some outbreaks of rain across north and west Scotland, breezy here too, drier further east. Elsewhere, expect sunny spells and mostly dry conditions but a few scattered showers cannot be ruled out, mainly over the western coasts and hills. Highs at 16 to 24C.
Wednesday 22/6/22 A north to north-westerly wind flow continues on Wednesday. More cloud and some showery rain will affect parts of Scotland into northern England as well as Northern Ireland, though many places should stay dry here. Drier further south though scattered showers are always at risk across northern coasts and hills. Highs at 16 to 24C though cooler across northeast Scotland and northeast England.
Thursday 23/6/22 Mostly dry weather on Thursday with sunny spells about, though a scattering of showers across western coasts and hills. The risk of more persistent rainfall across northwest Scotland where it will continue to be breezy. Highs at 16 to 23C.
Friday 24/6/22 With low pressure to the north of Scotland on Friday there is the risk of some heavier rain to affect Northern Ireland and parts of Scotland. A few heavier showers could also push up from the south and affect southern and southwestern areas of England into Wales. Dry elsewhere. Highs at 15 to 23C, cooler still across northern Scotland.
Saturday 25/6/22 Showers could become more widespread across the country on Saturday though many places are expected to stay dry. Highs at 15 to 21C.
