Some rain or drizzle toward northwest

High pressure will influence the country through the week ahead, maintaining a quiet weather regime. Weak fronts toppling in from the Atlantic bring an increase of cloud and a little rain in the northwest. Many places largely dry.

High pressure stays in charge during midweek, keeping things dry across much of the British Isles. Some frost and fog. Variable cloud and sun. A westerly breeze brings some rain to northwest Scotland. Highs 4 to 9C.
