Colder for a time next week as conditions turn unsettled

Changing weather in the days ahead. Turning cooler and breezier over the weekend. Next week starting cold and windy with the risk of some snow in the north. Probably turning milder again by the end of the week.

Tuesday 28/01/20
A colder day for all on Tuesday with low pressure north of Scotland. There will be a mix of showers, these falling as snow in Scotland, northern England, Wales and the north and west of Ireland, and sunny spells. More persistent snow may affect western Scotland while southern coastal parts of England could see heavy rain and strong winds for a time. Feeling cold in the wind with highs at just 2 to 7°C.

Wednesday 29/01/20
Further snow showers overnight over northern and western Scotland as well as the hills of northwest England. These are likely to fade through the day on Wednesday although always a risk of some showers over western coasts. Tending to be dry and bright in the east and south. Rain arriving in the northwest later. Continuing chilly with highs at 4 to 8°C.
 

Thursday 30/01/20
A generally drier day across much of the UK after early showers over northern areas fade. Staying rather cloudy however. Outbreaks of rain affect Ireland and Northern Ireland throughout the day, spreading into far western parts of Scotland, England and Wales later. Highs of 4°C in northern Scotland to 7 to 10°C everywhere else.
 

Friday 31/01/20
Friday may see the arrival of low pressure from the west again. A cloudy and windy day across the country with rain spreading from west to east. Feeling milder for all with highs ranging from 7°C in northern Scotland to 13°C in southern England.

Saturday 01/02/20
Low pressure stays nearby bringing cloudy conditions again on Saturday. Rain affects much of Ireland and western and northern parts of the UK. Feeling mild. Winds picking up again with highs of 8 to 13°C.

Sunday 02/02/20
Sunday may stay unsettled with low pressure nearby bringing further outbreaks of rain and strong winds. Continuing milder with high temperatures of 6 to 12°C.
