The weather becoming more settled, but an increasing risk of frost and fog

High pressure is going to be build through the coming days. This brings drier conditions and it is likely to be cool on many days too. Overnight frost and fog developing, slow to clear some areas during the day. Increased winds in Scotland with less of a risk of fog, mist and murk here.

Sunday 19/1/20
High pressure dominates on Sunday. Fog and frost may be widespread over all but central and northern Scotland, although this should lift to leave dry weather and good spells of sunshine. Increased winds over northwest Scotland with cloud and outbreaks of drizzle here. Temperatures reaching 5 to 7C.

Monday 20/1/20
High pressure remains on Monday. More dry weather but with a further risk of misty conditions as well as morning fog patches. These lift to leave sunny spells in the south. Breezy in Scotland with some rain and drizzle in northern and western Scotland as well as northwest Ireland. Highs at 5 to 7C for many, but 11C in the far north of Sotland.
 

Tuesday 21/1/20
A weak front lies through Ireland, England and Wales on Tuesday, although high pressure continues to dominate. There will be some cloud, mist and murk around as well as drizzle in places. Better spells of sunshine in the far north of England and Scotland. Highs at 5 to 7C.
 

Wednesday 22/1/20
The pressure remains high through Wednesday. This brings a further risk of mist and fog patches, perhaps most tending to be further north. A risk of some drizzle in the north and west of Scotland. Bright and dry where the mist and fog clears. Highs near 4 to 8C.

Thursday 23/1/20
High pressure remains through Ireland, England and Wales. This brings dry weather with broken cloud, but also a fair amount of cloud. Breezier in northern and western Scotland with some drizzle here too. Temperatures at 5 to 9C.

Friday 24/1/20
High pressure stays to the south on Friday. Dry weather here with broken cloud and some bright or sunny spells after morning fog clears. Windier in Scotland with some rain in the far north. Highs at 5 to 8C.
