Thursday 9/1/20
Low-pressure dominates on Thursday as a complex feature across the country. Rain is likely in the east at first but this should clear as one area of low pressure moves out of the way. A second area of rain may affect southern Ireland and Southwest England as the next area of low pressure drifts eastwards. In between these areas will be broken cloud, some sunny spells, but also a scattering of showers. A cooler day at 4 to 6C.

Friday 10/1/20
Outbreaks of rain clearing East Anglia and Southeast England on Friday morning. This is followed by a bridge of high-pressure which will bring clear skies but also an early morning frost to the rest of England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland. Increasing winds affecting western Ireland and western Scotland with rain in the afternoon here. Highs at 5 to 7C.

Saturday 11/1/20
A brisk south-westerly flow over all areas on Saturday with rain affecting Ireland, Northwest England and western Scotland. Drier in eastern Scotland, north east England and much of England and Wales. The best of any sunshine across eastern England. Highs at 7 to 11C.

Sunday 12/1/20
A cold front clears eastwards on Sunday taking some showery bursts of rain with it. Brighter and cooler weather follows to the north and west, with some showers over the coasts. The showers wintry over the hills of Scotland. Highs at 5 to 10C.

Monday 13/1/20
High pressure to the east with low pressure west of the UK on Monday. It is likely to be windy in Ireland and much of the west of the UK with periods of rain in Ireland. Drier for much of England, Wales and Scotland, although an increasing risk of drizzle on western coasts. Highs at 7 to 12C.

Tuesday 14/1/20
Low pressure may be close to northwest Scotland on Tuesday. A cold front clears eastern England taking showery bursts of rain with it. Severe gales and heavy rain and showers affecting northern and western Scotland, as well as western Ireland and western parts of the UK. Temperatures at 7 to 11C.
