Gradually improving this weekend, becoming warmer and sunnier into next week
A chilly and showery spells of weather over the coming days. However, conditions are going to be improving with pressure building into the weekend. Despite a few showers at first, it should then become drier. Next week may be drier and warmer with good spells of sunshine, the best of the sunny and warm weather in the west.

Saturday 11/5/19 A ridge of high pressure building through Ireland and the UK on Saturday. Cloud may affect the far south of England at first, although this clears away. Elsewhere it will be brighter with sunny spells to start the day. Showers, some thundery, are likely to be developing north to south through central Scotland, the Pennines, the Midlands and into southern England. A few showers in central Ireland too. Tops at 10 to 16C.
Sunday 12/5/19 High pressure builds through Sunday. This brings a cold start to the morning with the risk of an early ground frost. The day should be dry and bright with sunny spells and lighter winds. A warm front affects Ireland and western Scotland bringing some low cloud and drizzle here. A low risk of isolated showers in southern England. Highs at 13 to 17C.
Monday 13/5/19 Pressure stays high through Monday, probably centred to the east of the country. There is a risk of some low cloud and drizzle in western Ireland and western Scotland. Elsewhere it should be dry and warm with good spells of sunshine. Tops near 16 to 21C.
Tuesday 14/5/19 Pressure stays high on Tuesday. There will be good spells of sunshine and it should be feeling warm. Just a low risk of some low cloud on eastern coasts from time to time. Highs at 17 to 23C.
Wednesday 15/5/19 High pressure to the north of the UK on Wednesday. This brings dry weather and good spells of sunshine. Eastern areas may see some low cloud drifting onto coasts at times. Highs at 16 to 23C, but cooler on eastern coasts.
Thursday 16/5/19 Another warm day with high pressure north of Scotland. The northeast flow brings some low cloud to eastern coasts from time to time. Best of the sunshine to the west. Warm in the west, but cooler on eastern coasts. Highs at 14 to 23C.
