Starting fair but turning more mixed and cooler by the weekend

We still have a couple of fine days ahead with the best sunshine in the east. Still warm in Scotland, although temperatures slip later in the week. Conditions become more unsettled towards the weekend and into next week with rain and showers. Turning cooler into next week with a few showers, most in the east.

Friday 17/5/19
Pressure is expected to be decreasing on Friday. A front over central parts of England and Wales brings cloud and outbreaks of showery, but mostly light rain here. A further front allows for rain to be affecting western parts of England and much of Ireland as well as western Scotland, although this showery for most. Drier in northern and eastern Scotland as well as northeast England. Increasingly breezy with tops near 19C in western Scotland, but a cool 14 to 17C elsewhere.

Saturday 18/5/19
Low pressure centred to the south on Saturday. This is going to bring a mixed day with periods of rain, most across northern areas. Some heavy and thundery showers over southern areas. Feeling mild in the south at 19C, but cool in more northern parts at 10 to 13C.
 

Sunday 19/5/19
Low pressure remains on Sunday with an easterly breeze affecting most areas. Some bright spells but also showers developing. The showers could turn heavy and thundery at times. Highs at 14 to 16C, 17 to 23C.

 
 
 

Monday 20/5/19
Low pressure to the east of the UK. Eastern coasts may have more cloud. Western areas are likely to be brighter, some showers forming over the hills. Highs at 20C in the south of the UK, 14C in eastern parts of Scotland and England.

Tuesday 21/5/19
High pressure to the north with low pressure to the south on Tuesday. A northeast wind brings cloud and a few spots of drizzle in the southeast. Some sunshine to the north and west. Highs at 20C in the west, 16C in the east.

Wednesday 22/5/19
Most places are likely to be fair with sunny spells on Wednesday. Some cloud and a few showers in the southeast. The possibility over some cloud and rain in western Ireland. Highs at 16 to 21C.
