Tuesday 07/05/19
Tuesday will be a mixed day of cloudy skies, sunny spells and showers, some of which may be rather wintry, with low pressure to the northeast and southwest. Showers may merge to give longer spells of rain over Ireland and northern and central parts of England. Wintry showers are likely to be confined to higher ground in Scotland. The best of the brightness in the northeast, becoming cloudier through the day in the southwest. Highs at 8 to 13C.

An area of low pressure will track from west to east just to the south of the UK on Wednesday bringing strong winds and rain to England and Wales through the day. Drier and brighter in the north of Scotland with the chance of a wintry shower; rain moving into eastern areas later. Showers affecting Ireland through the afternoon too. Highs widely at 7 to 11C, though 12 to 14C is possible in southern parts of Ireland and England.
