A cold weekend with a risk of ground frost, then a dry start to next week

Cold weather as we head into the end of the week and the weekend. There is a risk of some wintry showers over the hills of Scotland later in the week. A risk of some ground frosts too over the weekend. Dry to start next week although some hints of things turning more unsettled towards the middle of the week.

Saturday 04/05/19
High pressure to the northwest on Saturday brings a cold north to northwest flow and the risk of a morning ground frost to western areas. There is a risk of some showers, which may be wintry in nature, in the north and east of Scotland and eastern England where it will be feeling cold. Brighter and drier to the west with sunny spells and a chance of an isolated shower. High temperatures at 7 to 11C.


Sunday 05/05/19
High pressure brings another chilly start to the day with a risk of a ground frost. A mostly fair day with good sunny spells, although some patchy rain may affect northern Scotland with a few showers along eastern coasts of England. Highs at 9 to 13C.

 
 
 


Holiday Monday 06/05/19
Pressure remains high on Monday. This brings a chilly start to the day with a touch of frost. There will be good spells of sunshine for many, although a weak front could bring rain to northern and western parts of Scotland. High temperatures at 8 to 13C.
 


Tuesday 07/05/19
Tuesday may see the arrival of a low pressure area across the southern UK and Ireland. This may bring heavy rain and strong winds to Ireland, Wales, England and the south of Scotland. Highs at 8 to 15C.


Wednesday 08/05/19
Low pressure may remain to the south on Wednesday bringing further rain to Ireland, Wales and England. Drier and brighter in the north of Scotland with the chance of a wintry shower. Highs at 8 to 10C in Scotland and Northern Ireland, 11 to 16C elsewhere.

Thursday 09/05/19
Low pressure moving to the east may bring another unsettled day on Thursday. Strong winds and blustery showers for some. Wintry showers in the north. High temperatures at 7C in northeast Scotland, 15C in southeast England.
