An unsettled spell of weather next week for the UK and Ireland

Following a very warm spell for the southeast this weekend, conditions will turn fresher and rather unsettled across the country into next week. The wettest weather will be in the north and west while the southeast will be generally drier and warmer. Thundery outbreaks are possible mid-week too.

Tuesday 04/06/19
A west to northwesterly flow for most areas on Tuesday bringing another mixed day of sunshine, showers and outbreaks of rain. The heaviest bursts of rain are expected to affect eastern Ireland, Wales and western and northern parts of England as a small low pressure system moves northward through the Irish Sea. Rain will spread into Scotland through the afternoon while sunny spells and showers will follow to the south for England and Wales. Some of these may be thundery. High temperatures at 11 to 20C, coolest in the northwest, warmest in the southeast.


Wednesday 05/06/19
Staying fairly changeable into midweek as low pressure remains over the northern half of the UK. Outbreaks of rain for northern and western areas. Showers for western parts of England and Wales which may be thundery in nature. Elsewhere there will be some good sunny spells. Drier too for eastern parts of England. Breezy for northern areas. High temperatures at 11C in the northwest to 19C in the southeast.


Thursday 06/06/19
Another changeable day on Thursday with a mixture of sunshine and showers. Showers more frequent in the west through the morning then in the east through the afternoon. Good spells of sunshine will develop between the showers but it will tend to be cloudier in the north. Thunderstorms are possible through the afternoon. High temperatures at 12 to 19C, warmest in the east.


Friday 07/06/19
Detail remains uncertain on Friday but low pressure to the west will bring a mixture of sunny spells and showers. Some heavier rain possible for western parts of Scotland and Ireland. High temperatures at 14 to 21C.

Saturday 08/06/19
Detail continues to be uncertain but low pressure to the east may bring further spells of showers and rain to western areas. Feeling fresh in a northwesterly air flow. High temperatures at 13 to 19C.

Sunday 09/06/19
A northwesterly flow may continue on Sunday bringing further showers and outbreaks of rain in the west. Sunny spells developing between the showers. High temperatures at 14 to 17C.
