Friday
An unsettled day with frontal rain, heavy and persistent in places, continuing to progress south-eastwards across Ireland and the UK as well as high winds. Rain clearing Ireland and much of Scotland by mid afternoon with brighter weather to follow but also blustery showers, with the rain moving across much of England and Wales. Southeast England likely to not see any rain until later in the day. Strong to near gales expected, gale force to strong gale for those exposed, over higher ground and along some coasts. Highs at 18C in southern England, 13C in northern Scotland.


Friday Night
Rain gradually clearing the southeast through the evening and first part of the night. Meanwhile, blustery showers affecting western into central areas while drier further east and the best of the clear spells. Strengthened winds still, particularly so towards coasts. Lows at 7 to 12C.
 


Saturday
A windy and blustery day with gales expected in the north and towards coasts. Sunny spells and showers, these heavy and frequent in the west. Drier further east but not completely without showers, particularly across southern Scotland and northern England. Highs at 12 to 14C in the north and west, a milder 16 to 18C across the south and east.
 


Sunday
Overnight rain will continue to affect southernmost English counties, possibly far south Wales too, during Sunday morning. A building ridge of high pressure through the day will see the rain clearing from the west. Elsewhere will be largely dry and fine though some showers being blown in on a blustery wind affecting western coasts and hills further north. Highs at 14 to 18C.
