Torrential showers
A warm day

Tuesday
Heavy showers and rain this morning across the south of England and southern Wales as well as southern Ireland. A further area of rain in Scotland with some heavy showers in northern England. Parts of the Midlands, East Anglia and the northern half of England will be drier and brighter. However, showers will be developing and becoming more widespread and thundery. The showers merging to longer spells of thundery rain, some of them torrential across most of the British Isles. A warm day at 24C in East Anglia and southeast England, 19C in northern Scotland and much of Ireland.


Tuesday Night
Thundery showers this evening will be fading across England, Wales and Ireland, although always some showers in southern areas. Further rain for Scotland, especially the east and northern England. Drier in western Scotland.Lows at 11 to 13C.

 
 
 


Wednesday
Low pressure remains over the south of Ireland on Wednesday, extending its influence across the whole British Isles. Thundery showers in the morning in the west and south, fewer of them to the east where the best sunshine will be. More persistent rain in northern Scotland. The showers turning heavier in the afternoon, most in northern England, the western Midlands, Wales and southern England as well as the south and west of Scotland and most of Ireland. Warm again at 18 to 23C.


Thursday
Low pressure drifts over the United Kingdom on Thursday. Another mixed or unsettled day with heavy, thundery showers for most areas. The showers could become torrential at times and localised flooding is possible. Rain may affect eastern Scotland. Northwest Scotland should be drier and it will be brighter here too with some sunny spells. Highs at 22C in any brightness in the east, 17C in northern Scotland.
