Morning Call - August 23, 2020
Showers
Sunny spells

Issued: 0530hrs Sunday 23rd August 2020
Duty forecaster: Claire Darbinyan

Quite a mixed day across the UK and Ireland with showers and sunny spells for many across Ireland, England and Wales. Generally staying drier for Northern Ireland and Scotland though there may be quite a bit of cloud around here.

Good Morning,

It's a dry and bright start to the day for eastern portions of England with cloud thickening to the north and west. Showers and outbreaks of rain affecting some western areas through the morning, the heaviest of these over north Ireland, Northern Ireland and Wales.

Through the afternoon we see showers, these locally heavy, spread across northern Ireland and Wales into central and southern parts of England. There will be some good spells of sunshine in between the showers for most. Staying mostly dry but cloudy through the afternoon for Northern Ireland and Scotland with isolated showers popping up over eastern parts of Scotland in particular.

Showers fade for much of the UK through the evening though may linger along eastern coastal regions a bit longer to leave a fine end to the day for many. Cloud starts to build over Ireland as a band of rain, this locally heavy, moves into the far southwest.

Have a good day!

Claire
