Showery rain west and north this morning, spreading eastwards through the afternoon

A messy weather day ahead with plenty of cloud for most. There will be rain this morning in Ireland, and further outbreaks of showers rain affecting northern England and southern Scotland. Drier this morning across central England, east Anglia and the southeast, perhaps with an odd brighter spells but cloud then increasing.

This afternoon sees outbreaks of showery rain in Ireland. More persistent, and perhaps at times heavy rain afecting Wales and southwest England. Further showery rain could affect northern England and southern Scotland. Staying dry in East Anglia and the southeast, although some showers arriving here in the evening.

Tonight sees most rain in northeast England with the winds picking up here. Heavy, sometimes thundery showers could affect southern England and southern Wales. Drier in western Scotland and Ireland.
