Blustery showers
Sunny spells

Issued: 0530hrs Saturday 22nd August 2020
Duty forecaster: Claire Darbinyan

Further blustery showers in the forecast today. Winds overall will be lighter than on Friday but still quite gusty, especially over higher ground and more exposed areas. Showers will be more frequent to the west with longer spells of sunshine between showers for eastern areas.

Good Morning,

A mixed start to the day across the country with spells of sunshine for some and blustery showers for others. Showers most frequent over western areas through the morning and may merge to give longer spells of rain over northwestern parts of Scotland as well as over the northern half of the island of Ireland.

Showers continue to affect many through Saturday afternoon, merging over northwestern portions of England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales to give longer spells of rain here. Becoming drier to the south and east with good spells of sunshine developing here.

Showers become less frequent and lighter into Saturday evening but persist for northern and western coastal parts of Ireland and Scotland as well as over Wales, northern England and parts of the West Country.

Have a good day!

Claire
