Morning Call - August 28, 2020
Rain south
Showers north

Issued: 0530hrs Friday 28th August 2020
Duty forecaster: Alexi Venerus

Outbreaks of rain in the south while sunny spells and showers affect the north and west.

In the morning, outbreaks of rain will affect southern Scotland initially before clearing and moving into northern England. Largely cloudy but plenty of dry conditions across the rest of Scotland although northern areas will see some showers. The rest of England and Wales will see cloudy skies and outbreaks of rain. Rain will affect Northern Ireland and northern parts of Ireland initially before clearing and being more confined to southern and eastern parts of Ireland with sunny spells and showers developing elsewhere.

In the afternoon, rain will mainly affect southern and central England, much of Wales as well as southern and eastern parts of Ireland. Drier elsewhere with some sunny spells and some showers about but plenty of dry conditions too. Feeling chilly on that brisk northeasterly wind, particularly towards coasts.

Tonight, cloudy skies continuing across the southeast of England but rain should clear this region through the night. Clear spells and mainly dry conditions elsewhere, although showers affecting northern Scotland and mainly eastern coasts of the UK and potentially the southwest of England.
