Getting brighter
Windy start in east

Issued: 0530hrs Wednesday 26th August 2020
Duty forecaster: Simon Keeling

Windy start in the east, becoming brighter for al during the day, a few showers in the west

A windy and cloudy start in eastern parts of England and Scotland. Outbreaks of patchy rain, mostly in eastern Scotland. Drier for more western areas, a few showers over north Wales. The best of the sunshine in southern parts of England and Wales, the winds easing in the east too. Feeling chilly.

A brighter afternoon with sunny spells, the winds continuing to be light. Scattered showers, mostly in the northwest of England and Midlands as well as Wales. Heavier showrs could affect western parts of Ireland.

Tonight is going to be dry for most wit some clearer spells. However, increased cloud through Ireland bringing rain here, this affecting western Ireland too.
