Cloudy and wet in the north, rain heavy in places. Increasingly windy throughout. Drier in the south.

This morning, rain will spread across Scotland turning heavy and peristent in the west. Cloudy with patchy outbreaks of mostly light rain across Ireland and Northern Ireland but largely dry across eastern areas here. Patchy, light rain also affecting northern England and parts of north Wales. Southwesterly winds strengthen widely. Dry with sunny spells further south.

This afternoon, rain will continue to affect Scotland, heavy and prolonged rain still in the west. More persistent rain afecting Northern Ireland aswell as northern and central parts of Ireland and northwest England. Rain light and patchy still across northern and western Wales and northeast England. A brisk southwesterly wind continues. Dry with continuing sunny spells elsewhere.

Overnight, rain will continue to affect the northern half of the UK with northeastern parts of Scotland becoming largely dry. Still a brisk southwesterly wind for many. Staying dry further south. Rather a lot of cloud about but best of the clear spells in the far south and southeast.
