Morning Call - August 08, 2020
Hot
Some showers

Issued: 0530hrs Saturday 8th August 2020
Duty forecaster: Alexi Venerus

Largely dry, fine and hot in the south, warm further north. Risk of heavy showers developing over central and eastern parts.

Any lingering cloud and rain in the north first thing will quickly clear to allow for a dry and fine morning with plenty of sunshine for Scotland as a whole. Heat will rapidly build in the south and it will become hot quickly for much of England and Wales. Mostly dry for these regions but there is the risk of showers developing across central and eastern areas of England late morning. A dry and fine morning with plenty of sunshine across Ireland and Northern Ireland.

Through the afternoon there is the continued risk of some outbreaks of rain across central and eastern parts of England, some showers falling heavy and possibly thundery. A dry and fine afternoon elsewhere with plenty of sunshine but with the small risk of developing brief showers over northern Scotland later on in the day.

A dry night for most places in the north and west with plenty of clear spells. There is the risk of heavy showers still for central and eastern regions of England, possibly thundery. It will be another warm night across England and very warm and humid in the southeast.
