A largely dry day although showers in the north. Heavy rain pushing into southern regions later and overnight
In the morning it will be largely dry with sunny spells about, although a few showers developing across parts of Scotland into northern England.
In the afternoon, the risk of showers continues across Scotland. Largely dry elsewhere but cloud will thicken across west Ireland where there is a risk of some patchy light rain along coasts here. Cloud will also thicken across southern and central England as well as Wales in advance of rain pushing into some southern English counties by the end of the day.
Rain, often heavy and possibly thundery, continues to spread northwards across much of England, Wales as well as Ireland and Northern Ireland overnight. Scotland staying largely dry with some clear spells about but cloud thicken from the south too. Some of the southern western Scottish islands, however, could slso see outbreaks of rain.
