Low pressure is set to persist to the north-west of Scotland on Wednesday with weather fronts bringing wet and windy weather to more northern and western areas through the course of the day, perhaps very windy here too. Drier to the east and south, breezy here also and with rain here later. Highs at 6C to 12C.

Thursday 24/1/18
Low pressure is expected to be close to Scotland on Thursday. This bringing unsettled conditions with rain or showers in Scotland and Ireland, turning to sleet on the hills. Further south it will be bright and breezy with a mix of sunshine and showers, somewhat cooler from the west through the day, overnight frost possible. Highs at 4C to 10C.
 

Friday 25/1/18
A cooler day with a possible frosty start and with a ridge of high pressure approaching from the west aiding in the development of a N or NW'ly wind with sunshine and showers, these wintry across Scottish high ground, showers fewest further south and east. Highs 3C to 8C.
 

Saturday 26/1/18
Wet and windy weather is likely to return to northern and western areas by Saturday, perhaps milder here again also. With higher pressure close to S England though more central, southern and eastern areas of England potentially having a mainly dry day with some brighter intervals and just a few passing showers. Highs 5C to 10C.
 

Sunday 27/1/18
High pressure is set to continue to dominate just to the south of the British Isles signaling quite a lot of dry weather across southern areas. Further north and west and some rain and showers are to be expected at times, windy too, gales around Scotland and mild, highs 5C to 11C.

Monday 28/18
High pressure may well begin to build more directly over England and Wales with mainly dry conditions prevail here with some sunny spells, but with possible overnight frost and fog. More unsettled still, perhaps, across Scotland with some rain and showers possible, windier here still as well. Mild still, highs 5C to 10C.
