Increasingly unsettled in the days but much milder into next week

Monday 22/1/18
Heavier rain spreads east on Monday across England and Wales and it becomes windy across more southern areas of England and Wales as low pressur system moves east through the day. Brighter weather may follow from the west, although there will be heavy showers in Scotland and the west of England, Wales and Ireland. Highs at 4C in Scotland, 11C in southern England.


Tuesday 23/1/18
With low pressure to the north-west of Ireland on Tuesday a milder southwest flow is expected to develop and feeling much milder than of late. There will be cloud and rain in Ireland and Scotland. Low cloud and drizzle may trouble western and southern coasts of England and Wales. Becoming brighter in more eastern and south-eastern areas. Highs at 6C to 10C.
 


Wednesday 24/1/18
Low pressure is set to persist to the north-west of Scotland on Wednesday with weather fronts bringing wet and windy weather to more northern and western areas through the course of the day, perhaps very windy here too. Drier to the east and south, breezy here also. Highs at 6C to 12C.
 


Thursday 25/1/18
Low pressure close is expected to be close to Scotland on Thursday. This bringing unsettled conditions with rain in Scotland, turning to sleet on the hills. Further south it will be bright and breezy with a mix of sunshine and showers, somewhat cooler from the west through the day. Highs at 4C to 10C.
 


Friday 26/1/18
A ridge of high pressure building through Ireland, England and Wales on Friday. This brings drier conditions with some bright or sunny spells. Cloud and drizzle could affect western Scotland. Highs at 4C to 11C.

Saturday 27/18
Wet and windy is likely to return to northern and western areas by Saturday, perhaps milder here again alos. With higher pressure close to S England though more central, southern and eastern areas of England potentially having a mainly dry day with some brighter intervals and just a few passing showers. Highs 5C to 11C.
