Sleet & snow at times

Issued: 0900 Monday 15th January 2018
Duty forecaster: Dr. Simon Keeling

Cold, showery and unsettled with strong winds, then milder and mixed next week

An unsettled with with the jet stream to the south of the UK and Ireland. This allows for chilly weather and wintry showers during the forst part of the week, before developing a deep area of low pressure which brings severe gales late Wednesday and Thursday. Perhaps turning a little milder and less windy into the weekend and early next week.
